Today Aries will do something out of character: before heading out on Friday night, they'll work out how much is left until payday. The number won't be scary, just more concrete than they'd like. They'll plan the weekend around it - and on Monday they won't have to explain anything to anyone.

Taurus

Today Taurus shouldn't buy the thing they've been eyeing in the same shop window for three weeks. If they really need it, they'll still need it next Friday. If not - by Tuesday they'll have forgotten, and the money will still be theirs.

Gemini

Today Gemini will cancel something arranged a month ago - politely, with the real reason instead of a made-up one. The other side will reply that they wanted to cancel too. Both will spend Friday with the same relief, each in their own flat.

Cancer

Today Cancer will clear out the photos on their phone. Duplicates, snapshots of receipts, screenshots of messages that stopped meaning anything long ago - they'll delete more than a thousand. They'll stop at one from a few years back and won't delete it. That one will take up the rest of their evening.

Leo

Today Leo will be praised for someone else's idea. They'll have about two seconds to say whose it was. Will they use them?

Virgo

Today Virgo will let someone else organise the weekend. Time, place, who drives, where to eat - everything. Until four in the afternoon it will gnaw at them from the inside, and after four they'll notice they've stopped checking the plan.

Libra

Today Libra will get a compliment and won't immediately return it with another. They'll say "thank you" and leave it there. The pause that follows will feel endless to them, and perfectly ordinary to the other person.

Scorpio

Today Scorpio will forget they're angry with someone. They'll only remember in the evening and decide not to start it all again.

Sagittarius

Today Sagittarius will finally unpack the suitcase that's been sitting in the corner since August. At the bottom they'll find sand, a concert ticket and a souvenir bought for someone who still hasn't received it. They'll deliver the souvenir that same evening - a month late and without an apology.

Capricorn

Today Capricorn will hear their mother talking about them in front of other people. Details they forgot long ago, told with a pride she rarely showed to their face. They won't interrupt her. They'll pretend to be very interested in their coffee.

Aquarius

Today Aquarius should mute notifications from one group - they know which one. Nobody will notice they're gone. That's exactly why they should have done it last year.

Pisces

Today Pisces will take the first jacket of the season out of the wardrobe and find money from last year in the pocket. Not much - enough for a coffee and a pastry. They'll spend it on a coffee for someone else and won't wait to be paid back.
