UKIM Opens Enrolment Deadlines: Three Terms for the New Generation - But the Real Fight Begins Only After Graduation

The oldest and largest university in the country has opened its gates for a new generation of freshmen. UKIM has published the call for enrolment in the first cycle of studies for the 2026/2027 academic year - and for the thousands of school-leavers watching their exam results these days, the most nerve-racking part of summer begins.

Applications will run in three terms. The first is 18 and 19 August, the second 10 and 11 September, and the third 23 September. The preliminary rank lists with secondary-school grades are published on 24 August for the first term and 15 September for the second. Whoever catches the first term will pick a faculty before the crush; whoever waits will fight for the remaining free places.

The call, they say from the University, contains all the information - the conditions for enrolment, the required documentation and the number of free places per faculty. UKIM urges candidates to prepare their documents in time and to follow the deadlines, since every year a portion of the graduates miss the wave precisely because of a missing paper.

Choosing a faculty is rarely a pure question of desire. It collides with the reality of the job market, with the fact that the promised tracks do not always bring work, and with the ever-larger wave of young people who take their degree here and look for their future somewhere further away. UKIM opens the deadlines - what those deadlines will bring for the students themselves is a story that begins only after graduation.
