Black Country, New Road in Belgrade on August 12 - One of the Most Acclaimed British Bands at Dorćol Plac

On August 12, Dorćol Plac in Belgrade becomes the stage for one of the most acclaimed British bands of its generation - Black Country, New Road arrive in the Serbian capital as part of their summer tour. For a regional audience that follows contemporary art-rock, this is a rare chance to see a band the British press writes about in superlatives.

Black Country, New Road formed in Cambridge and quickly became one of the most intriguing names on the British alternative scene. After the departure of singer Isaac Wood in 2022, the band did not break up - instead, vocal and songwriting duties were taken over by three of its members, Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery and May Kershaw. The result is the third studio album „Forever Howlong", released in April 2025 via Ninja Tune, which drew near-unanimous praise from the critics.

Critics described the album as „one of the most ambitious, varied and rapturous records the past decade has produced out of Britain". The music moves from folk and baroque pop to progressive and alt-rock, with instruments rarely heard on stage - recorders, mandolins, harmonicas. This is not a band for background listening, but an act that demands attention and rewards it.

The concert at Dorćol Plac starts in the evening. Tickets are available through tickets.rs. For fans of contemporary indie and experimental sound in Macedonia, Belgrade is the closest point where Black Country, New Road stop on their tour.
