On October 16, the small stage of Vidas Art Arena in Sofia hosts one of the most respected voices in contemporary R&B - JMSN arrives in Bulgaria with the „Scared Straight" tour. For an audience that follows alternative soul and neo-soul, this is a rarity in the neighbourhood, within reach of regional listeners.
Behind the name JMSN stands Christian Berishaj, an Albanian-American singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, born in Dallas and raised in Detroit. Over the years he built a reputation as „your favourite artist's favourite artist" - his voice and production have been sought by Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, J. Cole and Kehlani, among many others. Albums like „Whatever Makes U Happy" and „Soft Spot" established him as a writer who constantly shifts his sound, from funk-soul to art-pop.
His latest album, from 2025, takes him in a more vice-inspired, introspective direction, with reflections on the pressure of fame - exactly the material that defines the „Scared Straight" tour. The Sofia concert is an intimate event on a small stage, a format that suits the emotional, deeply felt sound of JMSN - closer to the audience than an arena spectacle would be.
Tickets are on sale through bilet.bg and Ticket Station. For regional fans of soul and alternative R&B, and especially for an Albanian audience that can trace his roots, Sofia is the closest point where JMSN stops on his European tour.
