Damir Avdić, a singer-songwriter from Tuzla, performs on October 17 at 20:00 in Prandau-Normann Castle in Valpovo, at the first edition of Blicgig. The concert was originally announced for September 26, but according to the ticketing page it now takes place on October 17. Blicgig is a new format from the association Vašar, aiming to give smaller places the kind of solo club gigs that are routine in bigger cities.

Avdić was born in 1964 and started out as frontman of the Tuzla punk band Rupa u zidu ("Hole in the Wall"), with whom he released five studio albums. After the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina he lived in the US for three years, and since 2009 he has lived in Slovenia. His solo debut "...od trnja i žaoka" came out in 2004, followed by "Mrtvi su mrtvi", "Život je raj", "Mein Kapital", "Manjina" and "Mainstream Horror". He also writes novels and poetry and composes music for theatre and film.

The announcement describes him as the author of raw, blunt, socially engaged lyrics and energetic solo shows - and the album titles say enough about what he sings. Anyone looking for a gentle evening in a castle: this isn't it.

Presale tickets cost 8 euros (about 490 denars) on entrio.hr, and the poster lists 10 euros (about 620 denars) at the door.
