Dove Cameron and Damiano David are married. The actress, known from the Descendants films, is 30; the Måneskin frontman is 27. The civil ceremony took place in Tuscany in front of about a hundred guests, and it looked nothing like a catalogue wedding. The bride skipped the classic wedding dress: she chose a white Valentino ensemble - a double-breasted jacket, a belt, a tie and a long skirt, with a cape over her shoulders. Damiano matched her completely in a cream-toned suit with a double-breasted jacket, wide trousers and a gold silk scarf.

The location was chosen for a reason. Italy is Damiano's home country, and they said "I do" in the historic Palazzo dei Priori, Montalcino's old town hall, on Piazza del Popolo in the Val d'Orcia, between the provinces of Siena and Grosseto. They were married by mayor Silvio Franceschelli, in Italian, with an English translation only for the reading of the official documents. The decorations were white and cream - hydrangeas, calla lilies, lilies, candles and linen - and they arrived at the town hall entrance in a beige Lancia Flavia Vignale convertible.

The witnesses were actress Veronica St. Clair on the bride's side and Jacopo David, the groom's older brother. The most emotional moment came as they left the building: guests and neighbours greeted them with applause and rice, and they kissed on the town hall steps. The celebration then moved to Castiglion del Bosco, an exclusive estate among the vineyards of the Val d'Orcia with private villas, a spa, a winery and a two-Michelin-star restaurant. According to sources, the festivities last several days.

For a Balkan audience, Damiano isn't just a Hollywood star's husband. He's the voice of the band that won Eurovision in 2021 with "Zitti e buoni" - a contest followed in the Balkans with a passion few other music events ever get. Five years later, the frontman of that contest's loudest rock band got married in a municipal hall, with a translation for the guests.

The relationship has lasted three years. They met at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards; the first rumours started after Cameron turned up at a Måneskin concert in September 2023; in January 2024 they were spotted at dinner in Los Angeles, and a month later they made their first joint appearance at the pre-Grammy gala. In February 2024 she confirmed the relationship on social media with a photo of Damiano holding her high heels. In an interview with Cosmopolitan at the time she said: "He's the best person I've ever met in my life," describing him as an "angel" and a "teddy bear".

They announced their engagement at the start of 2026 with a photo of the ring and the message: "My favourite part of being alive. Happy new year." The proposal wasn't on a yacht or under the Eiffel Tower. Damiano did it at home, while they were packing suitcases for a trip, just as she was stepping out of the shower. "I want to do the dishes, do the laundry, cook together, I love you in your big T-shirt. This is the life I choose and I hope you've chosen the same one. Will you marry me?"

In an industry where celebrity weddings are sold as exclusive photo shoots, this couple at least said out loud what they were after: everyday life, not spectacle. A hundred guests, a municipal hall and rice on the steps - how many weddings around here would settle for such a modest guest list?
