Aries will apologise first today, and for something small from last week that the other side forgot long ago. They will do it in two lines, without explaining their own side. The person will reply with a single emoji and that is it, and Aries will spend the afternoon waiting to feel they have lost something - and will not feel it.

Taurus

Taurus will give someone advice about money today and will be listened to. They are not used to that; usually they speak, then watch people do the opposite. Towards evening a small discomfort will catch them, because suddenly they are answerable for someone else's account too, not just for their own opinion.

Gemini

Gemini will finish the book they started in July. Not the last thirty pages rushed before bed - they will sit down in the afternoon and read it through like a person with time. The ending will be weaker than the middle, which will somehow come as a relief.

Cancer

Cancer will decline an invitation today without inventing a reason. They will say they do not feel like it, write it exactly like that, and send it before they start softening it. The Tuesday that follows will be the calmest they have had this month, and the thought that they hurt someone will come only once, around eight, and will leave on its own.

Leo

Leo will send something of their own to a person whose opinion they value, and then will not open their phone for two hours. That second part is new. The reply, when it comes, will be shorter than they hoped and better than they feared.

Virgo

Virgo will ask for a raise or better terms today - something they have been working out on paper for months and never said out loud. Their voice will come out flatter than expected. The answer will not arrive today, and that waiting is the week's real task.

Libra

Libra will learn something new with their hands today - a recipe, a tool, a piece of software they had been annoyed by. They will get it wrong twice and the second time they will laugh. Of everything they planned for Tuesday, this is the only thing not on the list.

Scorpio

Scorpio will be funny out loud today, in front of people, and not at anyone's expense. A simple joke, a bad one, the kind that falls apart if you repeat it. The laughter at the table will last four seconds, and they will think about it until midnight, like something that worked by accident.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius will call a brother, sister or cousin they speak to twice a year. No occasion, no news. The conversation will last forty minutes and not one of them will be about plans.

Capricorn

Capricorn will let someone do it their own way today, even knowing there is a faster route. They will stay quiet while watching half an hour disappear. The result will be the same, and that is the fact they will find hardest to file away by the end of the day.

Aquarius

Aquarius will turn up to a family obligation today without turning it into a question of whether it makes any sense. They will sit, listen to the same stories for the third time, and not correct the details. At home they will notice they are not tired, and that will confuse them more than if they were.

Pisces

Pisces will ask to be paid today - for money they lent, for work they finished, for something owed to them for months. They will write it calmly, with a figure and a date, with no sentence that leaves room for wriggling. The other side will pay on Wednesday, and Pisces will realise the whole delay was theirs.
