The night over Russia brought scenes that local residents describe as the end of the world. Ukrainian drones struck a „Wildberries” logistics center - the largest Russian e-commerce platform, the one often compared to „Amazon” - in Kotovsk, in the Tambov region. The strike triggered a massive fire, and the consequences are severe: seven workers were killed and 24 were injured.

The losses were confirmed by regional governor Yevgeny Pervishov. Seven people who went to work and didn't come home - that is the real price of each of these strikes, behind every report of a „hit logistics center”. Rescue crews spent the whole night putting out the fire and searching through the rubble.

It wasn't just one site

The night didn't end with a single strike. A separate drone hit a „Wildberries” warehouse in Elektrostal, where major fires also broke out. Another Ukrainian drone struck a residential building in Vladimir, this time with no reported injuries. Attacks happened at several locations simultaneously, including Noginsk and Elektrostal, within just a few hours.

Russian authorities attribute the attacks to Ukrainian drones. Kyiv had not commented by the time of publication - which is usual in this war, where silence often says as much as a statement.

This is a war that long ago went past the front line. When warehouses deep inside Russian territory burn and the workers in them pay with their lives, it becomes clear that the notion of a „rear” in this war no longer exists. The Balkans know this logic by heart - once war steps outside its own borders, no one is sure anymore that they're far from it.
