Empire of the Sun, the Australian synth-pop project that defined the early 2010s of electronic pop, makes its first ever visit to Bulgaria on June 13, 2026. The show is part of the Ask That God: Europe 2026 tour and lands at Vidas Art Arena - the open-air summer venue in Sofia's Borisova Garden.

The duo, made up of Luke Steele (Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore (Pnau), surfaced in 2008 with the debut album Walking on a Dream, which quickly became one of the most recognisable electronic records of the late 2000s. The title track racked up over a billion Spotify streams and made the playlist of nearly every major European radio. With four studio albums, two Aria wins in Australia and hits like We Are the People, Alive, High and Low and Changes, Empire of the Sun are also recognisable for their visual style - oversized costumes, masks and mythological set design.

The Ask That God tour is the band's first European tour in six years and their first to include Bulgaria, alongside Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Austria and Denmark. The tour's concerts are full spectacles, with complete stage production and complex lighting that matches the project's cosmic visual identity. Vidas Art Arena, capacity around 7000, offers the kind of space this type of show needs.

Tickets are available via ticketstation.bg and empireofthesun.co. The show is on June 13, 2026 in the evening. Vidas Art Arena sits at the velodrome in Sofia's Borisova Garden. For Macedonian fans of late 2000s and early 2010s electronic music, this is a major chance to see one of the most striking bands of the genre.
