Brighton is sending Sofia a band that invented its own genre: Snake Eyes, the duo that calls its sound "grit pop", play Club Pave on November 8. Doors at 20:00.
Snake Eyes formed in 2020, during lockdown, as a creative escape from behind closed doors. Since then they have released two EPs and a mixtape, toured with You Me At Six, Kid Kapichi and Dinosaur Pile-Up, and signed to the British label Alcopop! Records. After two years of relentless touring around the UK and Europe, they have played the Truck, 2000 Trees, Down the Rabbit Hole, Sniester, Left of the Dial, Rebellion and The Great Escape festivals.
"Grit pop" means grunge riffs and loud, wide-open choruses that stick after the first listen: a dirty rock sound with pop melodies and a Britpop appetite for a chorus you shout back. They come to Sofia with material from their debut album "Cash Rich", which the British rock press is already reviewing as loud and direct.
Ticket prices have not yet been announced on bilet.bg, where the concert page is already open. Pave is a small club, which makes this a rare chance to watch a band from the British independent scene from a few metres away, far from the festival stages.
