Anelia is filling Arena 8888 with a jubilee: on November 28 in Sofia the Bulgarian pop-folk star celebrates with the concert "The First 25 Years", in the country's largest indoor arena. Doors at 20:00.
Anelia Georgieva Atanasova was born on July 1, 1982 in Stara Zagora and is one of the best-known singers on the Payner label. Her breakthrough came in 2002 with "Pogledni me v ochite" ("Look Me in the Eyes"), one of the fastest-selling singles in the history of Bulgarian music. That song opened a run of nine studio albums, the latest from 2018, with hits like "Everything Leads to You" (in translation) and duets with Ilian, Preslava, Elena and Miro. In 2012 she was named performer of the year by Planeta TV, and the awards across her career number more than twenty.
The jubilee is being sold big: tickets come in nine price categories. In 2012 Anelia staged a ten-years-on-stage concert with thirty songs and more than twenty dancers. Now the number on the poster is 25, and the stage is Arena 8888.
Tickets cost from 27.02 to 83.02 euros, or roughly 1,664 to 5,114 denars, through eventim.bg. Twenty-five years on stage in a genre that splits the Balkans into two camps: that is the number Anelia will be celebrating on November 28.
