H-Blockx, the German outfit that became one of the recognisable names of the nineties crossover scene, are coming to Sofia on 2 March 2027. The concert is at Pirotska 5 Event Center, and the band will be presenting their new album FILLIN_THE_BLANK.

The group formed in 1990 in Münster and is considered a pioneer of German crossover - the fusion of rock, metal and hip-hop that defined the entire decade. FILLIN_THE_BLANK came out on 6 March 2026 and is the band's first studio album after a fourteen-year pause. It reached number three on the German album chart, which for a band that had released nothing new for that long is a serious result.

The band themselves call the new record H-Blockx's "second first album". Drummer and producer Steady explains the idea came after the 2024 anniversary tour, when they played nothing but songs from the debut: that was when it became clear the new material had to sound like a return to their own core. Singer Henning Wehland wrote the lyrics by one rule - be as honest as possible. On LIGHTS_OUT, COME_CLEAN and DESPERADO he speaks openly about addiction, shame and the road out of it, which makes them some of the most personal lyrics in the group's history.

The Sofia show is part of the album tour's second leg. Pirotska 5 is a club-capacity room, which means this will not be a concert watched from a hundred metres away. Tickets go through the festteam.bg network, and the date sits in early spring - March in Sofia is when the city's concert calendar usually wakes up.
