The winners of Ukraine's Bilhorod circus festival perform at Centar Gervais in Opatija on 1 October 2026 at 18:30. Tickets go through entrio.hr, and the organiser is the Dobro dobrim association. Revenue from sales goes to humanitarian causes.

The festival takes place in the village of Bilohorodka not far from Kyiv, and this is its sixth edition. The participants are children and teenagers - acrobats, equilibrists, aerial acts, contortion. In 2025 the festival featured 120 children from across Ukraine, and the number keeps climbing.

What this festival carries is not the performance but the context. It has run without interruption since the war began, which means the children standing on that stage now trained through years in which most of their childhood passed under air raid sirens. The organisers put it in a way worth passing on exactly: instead of only receiving help, these children come to show what they managed to keep.

Thirty-five young acrobats aged eight to eighteen perform in Opatija. Centar Gervais is the town hall venue on the Opatija coast, and the same touring programme has already passed through other Croatian cities. For an audience in Macedonia this is a distant destination, but it is also one of the few events in the region where the war in Ukraine is seen through people who lived it, rather than through a report.
