The Oktoberfest tradition is moving to Borisova Gradina in Sofia. From 9 to 25 October 2026 the small stage of the Vidas Art Arena becomes BierGarten Sofia - three weeks of a Bavarian beer garden with live music, German food and a programme every day.

The festival is new in the Fest Team catalogue, from the same crew behind Hills of Rock, AURA and Sofia Solid. The small stage has been fully rebuilt into a tent that keeps out rain and cold, and inside it there are long tables with benches seating five hundred in total. Wooden huts for beer and food, barrels, bunting and lanterns finish the setting - the concept is copied from the original, not reinvented.

The beer list runs through German and Bulgarian craft brands, plus wine and soft drinks, and the kitchen is German throughout. The waitresses wear authentic dirndls and the music comes off the stage - which means this is not a quiet garden with tables but an event running on the same principle as the Munich original.

Entry is by advance seat reservation through the Ticket Station network. The current hour-by-hour programme is published on the BierGarten Sofia page. For readers in Macedonia, Sofia is a little under three hours away, and three weeks of running time means there is no need to hunt for the exact weekend - almost any one in October will land you something.
