Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are returning to Britain with both children, for a period that even those announcing it only call „longer”. They are not returning to duty. They are not returning to the palace. They are returning to a private house whose address must not be written down, in a country they left saying they could not live there.

That is the only new piece of information that matters - the children are entering a system, and a system means a timetable, an address, someone dropping them off and picking them up every day. This is not a return - it is a second address, kept open until it closes. Meghan continues to run her brand, which means the business centre stays exactly where it was.

And the most awkward question remains, the one no royal statement answers: what exactly changes if a person lives in the country they fled, but with the same status they left with? The answer is - the children. They are the only thing that genuinely moves.
