Luca Minelli comes to Sava Centar in Belgrade for a concert on Wednesday, November 18 at 20:00 - a performance with an accompanying orchestra under the banner "The Golden Voice of Venice." The Italian lyric tenor is one of the most recognisable names in the "pop-opera" genre - a style that unites classical arias with contemporary pop arrangements.

Minelli was born in 1964 in Mestre, the mainland part of Venice, and began singing at the age of 16. He studied under maestro Michele Remor and regularly performed in Venetian concert halls before making his international breakthrough. In 2014 he signed with the American label Star Music and with Warner Music UK recorded the album "A Venezia."

Among the notable moments of his career are a performance at the Duke Ellington Center for the Arts with Mercedes Ellington, and a concert at Le Frak Concert Hall in New York with the New York Symphony Orchestra. In 2018 he took part in the European tour of "Romeo and Juliet on Ice," and in 2021 he recorded a duet with Kerry Ellis and Brian May (Queen) that was well received by the classical crossover audience. He launched his 2022 album on a world tour - this Belgrade show is part of its European leg, the kind of opera-pop crossover the Balkans rarely get without crossing a border to hear.
