Parov Stelar is coming to Belgrade for a concert at New Tekstil on Sunday, June 14 at 19:00. The Austrian DJ and producer is the pioneer of the electro swing genre and one of the most commercially successful Austrian artists on the international scene.
Real name Markus Füreder, born 1974 in Linz, he builds his career at the crossroads of swing, jazz, house, electronica and breakbeat - a fusion that was new in the early 2000s and is now a recognisable signature with a global audience. He founded his own label Etage Noir Recordings in 2003, and has released everything independently since then. The single "Booty Swing" - which samples a Lil Hardin Armstrong track - has alone pulled 70 million views on YouTube.
Over his career he has won 10 Amadeus Austrian Music Awards and worked with international names like Lana Del Rey, Bryan Ferry, Marvin Gaye and Lady Gaga. Parov Stelar concerts are rarely just DJ sets - they are full-band performances where electronic beats blend with live horn sections, double bass and a vocalist, layered with visual production and improvisation. What sets him apart from standard club nights is exactly that: the "Parov Stelar Band" brand - a model the Balkans rarely build at home but always pay to see when it tours through.
Tickets are sold through tickets.rs. The concert starts at 19:00 at New Tekstil, Belgrade - the Belgrade scene gets one of the most anticipated summer electronic shows in the Balkans.
