Sólstafir, the Icelandic post-metal outfit that spent three decades building its sound, play Club Mixtape 5 in Sofia on November 12, 2026. The show is part of the European tour "Eastbound and Down 2026" and starts at 8pm.

The band formed in 1995 around guitarist and singer Aðalbjörn Tryggvason, bassist Halldór Einarsson and drummer Guðmundur Óli Pálmason. They began in black metal, but over the years shifted toward post-metal while keeping the residue of that early harshness. The change was not a gimmick - it was the only place their melody had room to breathe.

The landmarks in their discography are "Köld" from 2009, "Svartir sandar" from 2011 and "Ótta" from 2014, the record that won them a wider European audience. Then came "Berdreyminn" in 2017 and "Endless Twilight of Codependent Love" in 2020. The latest release is "Hin Helga Kvöl" - Icelandic for "The Holy Agony" - out in 2024 and their first for Century Media.

The Sofia date belongs to the November Eastern European leg of the tour for that album. Mixtape 5 is a club, which for a band whose music depends on atmosphere beats a large hall. Tickets run from 30 to 35 euros through bilet.bg.
