UKIM Opens 8,851 Spots for Freshmen: Three Rounds, Three Dates, and a Summer on a Deadline

For the generation of high schoolers who just closed out their final semester, summer just came with a deadline. The „Ss. Cyril and Methodius" University has published its enrolment call for first-cycle students for the 2026/2027 academic year - with 8,851 open places in total, of which 4,395 are for full-time students.

Enrolment runs in three rounds. The first is on August 18 and 19, the second on September 10 and 11, and the third on September 23. The preliminary rankings, drawn up according to secondary-school performance, will be published on August 24 for the first round and September 15 for the second.

Inside the call, future students find everything they need - the enrolment conditions, the required paperwork, and the number of open places per faculty. UKIM is urging candidates to prepare their documents in time and to keep an eye on the deadlines, because a missed round doesn't come back.

Every year the same scene: rows of parents and kids outside the faculties, lost in points lists and quotas. The largest state university is opening nearly nine thousand places - enough for many to find their spot. What remains is for those places to be filled by students who actually want to study, not just to hold a student ID. But that's already a story for September.
