Rami Kuči, the prime suspect in the killing of 26-year-old A.M. in the Skopje neighbourhood of Dukjandžik, has been arrested in Kosovo. Kuči was detained by Kosovo police as part of an international operation against illegal drug trafficking on Kosovo's territory. A national and international arrest warrant had previously been issued for him.

The shooting took place on the evening of 6 September, in the middle of a Skopje neighbourhood. According to the information so far, Kuči and I.S. are suspected of firing at a group of people. The 26-year-old A.M. lost his life, and several others were injured.

Two men, according to the suspicions, opened fire on a group of people and then vanished. Nineteen days later one of them is behind bars - found in a drug-trafficking operation in another country. The second suspect is still out of reach of the prosecuting authorities.

There is no official word yet on what happens next. When, and whether, Kuči will be extradited to Macedonia to stand trial where the killing took place remains to be seen.

One arrest is a beginning, not an end. The hunt for the second suspect goes on, and the question is simple: how much longer will it take the institutions to find him too?
