On November 14 the Mixtape 5 club in Sofia gathers three bands that blend metal, folklore and Balkan roots into a single evening called Echoes of Balkana. The idea is clear from the name alone - metal that does not run from where it comes from, but wears it proudly, with sounds and motifs from this part of the world.

Three acts carry the night: Bulgaria's Khanъ, Romania's E-An-Na and Tickle the Sage. Each of them fuses heavy metal with folk and ethno elements in its own way - an approach with a growing audience in the region, because it connects two worlds the Balkan listener understands best: tradition and extreme music.

E-An-Na from Romania stands out in particular for that blend of progressive metal and Eastern European folk melodics, while Bulgaria's Khanъ brings a local take on the same idea. Together, the lineup makes an evening that is neither a pure metal concert nor a folk event, but something in between - exactly what the Balkan metal genre is after.

The event is part of the Mixtape 5: A-Side series and starts at 8 pm. Tickets run from around 39 leva upward and are sold through bilet.bg. For Balkan listeners who want metal with a local identity rather than a copy of the Scandinavian template, this is an evening worth the trip to Sofia.
