Elizabeth Embroidered Her Grandmothers into the Dress, Finished It with Manolo Blahnik - and Skipped the Bouquet

Elizabeth knew exactly what she wanted in her wedding dress for May 31 at the Cortijo Gran Capitan estate near Granada: a design by Claudia Llagostera, broken-white satin, with hand-embroidered flowers modelled on daisies. Not just for aesthetics - for symbolism. Both of the bride's grandmothers were stitched into the textile: one used to embroider mantillas, the other adored daisies.

The flower detail - hand-embroidered onto the fabric by embroidery specialist Victoria from ByLuneville - is the kind of thing the normal world has no idea exists, but it is precisely what makes the difference between a mass-produced and a genuinely personal dress. The silhouette: "honor word" neckline, a double semi-transparent ruffle on top and a satin body. A train that could be gathered up for dancing.

On her feet: gold Manolo Blahnik sandals with rhinestones and ankle straps - directly inspired by Carrie Bradshaw's wedding shoes. Instead of a bouquet - just a few stems of white anthurium.

The celebration ran the whole weekend: Friday pool party, Saturday private exchange of vows, charanga band, live music and a pizza truck. An entry without an official wedding ceremony, only close family and friends. A 15-year relationship finalised in the way that suits them - no protocol, just details that mean something.
