Georgi Sareski is one of the few Macedonian guitarists whose music can't be filed in a single drawer, and he doesn't try to hide it. On 7 November at 9:30 pm at Public Room, he plays his own compositions with a trio and with Dzijan Emin on keyboards.

In 2005 Sareski graduated in jazz composition from Berklee in Boston, on a scholarship. After coming home he became one of the pillars of the Skopje jazz scene, and with his quartet, which included Emin, he recorded four albums. In 2010 he was selected for "12 Points" in Stavanger, the European festival that brings together twelve young jazz groups from across the continent every year. Critics describe him as a composer in whom Balkan time signatures collide with popular dance forms, with a strong authorial hand and an occasional sense of the absurd.

This time on stage are Dzijan Emin on keyboards, Oliver Josifovski on bass and Aleksandar Petrov on drums. The programme is entirely original: sometimes lyrical, sometimes nervy and rhythmic, sometimes such that the audience won't know what's coming in the next bar. The concert is supported by the City of Skopje.

Tickets cost 500 denars and are sold via tix.mk. Public Room is on "50th Division" Street, and it takes card payments only.
