Singer Nesi Gomes comes to Croatia for the first time, as part of her world tour, with an intimate concert near Split. The show takes place on July 23 in the setting of Antoničin Mlin in Žrnovnica, a location that places her music in natural, almost mystical surroundings.
Nesi Gomes was born on the small island of Guernsey into a Portuguese family, and her sound flows precisely from that blend of origins. She combines traditional, emotional fado with British progressive and modern inspiration, creating folk that is at once introspective and powerful. Her voice and lyrics carry themes of healing, nature and inner struggle, setting her apart from the scene's classic singer-songwriters.
The Žrnovnica concert is conceived as a chamber evening for a smaller audience, which is exactly what her music calls for - no big festival stages, but close proximity to the performer. Antoničin Mlin, with its old stone and natural surroundings beside the water, is a stage that fits the sound of her songs.
The show runs from 8 to 10 p.m., with tickets available through entrio.hr. For listeners after something different from the standard summer concerts, Nesi Gomes's first appearance in the region is a chance to discover a songwriter whose voice is hard to forget.
