Bulgarian band Oratnitsa returns to the stage after nearly eight years, with a concert presenting its new album „STOPAN". The show takes place on September 12 on the small stage of Vidas Art Arena in Sofia, where the group will perform songs from the new release live for the first time, ahead of its official launch.
Oratnitsa formed in 2009 and stands out for a recognisable approach - fusing Bulgarian folk motifs and voices with contemporary electronic elements like dubstep, hip-hop and drum'n'bass. This kind of fusion, in which tradition familiar to generations of Bulgarians is carried through the prism of a modern sound, made the band one of the most original names on the Bulgarian alternative scene. The long break and an entirely new album make this concert a significant event for their followers.
With a renewed lineup and new material, Oratnitsa promises an evening in which folklore and electronics merge into a whole rarely heard on the regional scene. The small stage of Vidas Art Arena, housed in the velodrome in Borisova Gradina, offers a chamber atmosphere fitting for the premiere of new songs.
Tickets sell through Ticket Station, with a starting price of around 10 euros. For lovers of ethno-electronica and alternative sounds from Macedonia, Oratnitsa's return with a new album is one of the more interesting musical picks for September in neighbouring Bulgaria.
