At the Todor Proeski stadium the second-round derby ended 2:0 to Shkendija, with both goals scored by Fabrice Tamba - the first in the 55th minute from a counterattack and an assist by Ndzengue, the second in the 76th. A third was ruled out for offside, and Davor Taleski saved Vardar from an even greater embarrassment. Then the nerves went: pushing, shouting and a physical confrontation on the pitch itself, with teammates and officials pulling players apart. „Go, Milenko” came from the stands, and the Komiti sent word that debacles like this will not be tolerated. It is the second round, and the champion is already hunting for someone to blame.
At the Petar Miloševski training centre, Skopje drew 1:1 with Struga Trim Lum and recorded its first point since returning to the top division. Struga led through Hristijan Maleski in the 55th minute, held the initiative for most of the match and created more chances, but Kristijan Naumovski made several saves and Benjamin Shabani had a goal ruled out after a VAR check. Omar Berović, on from the bench, equalised with a header from a cross on the right. The favourite dropped two points on a pitch where nobody expected trouble.
After a first offer of 38.5 million pounds was rejected, Barcelona sent a new financial package worth 51.4 million pounds, the Spanish paper Sport reports. Manchester City wants 60 million, and Real Madrid is prepared to pay up to 43. Rodri is 30, won the Ballon d'Or after a World Cup in which he played all eight matches for Spain, and has four Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League. His contract expires in June 2027 and he has already said he will not extend it. City does not want to sell, but the arithmetic is merciless: in a year he leaves for nothing.
Arsenal signed Bruno Guimarães on a four-year deal with an option for one more. „I am your soldier, I will never give up,” the Brazilian said at the signing. They went after Vinícius Júnior, but he stayed at Real until 2032, so they came back to the man with 195 appearances, 31 goals and 32 assists who led Newcastle to the League Cup in the 2024/25 season - the club's first domestic trophy in seventy years. Newcastle first turned down 60 million, but having already lost Gordon and Tonali, and with the player openly wanting to leave, they agreed to 75 million pounds. When the player wants out, the price is the only thing left to negotiate.
The hero of the World Cup final, the man who scored Spain's decisive goal against Argentina, has agreed a four-year deal with PSG, Marca reports. The French are prepared to pay around 50 million euros for the 26-year-old forward, after losing Gonçalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani. Torres scored 21 goals in 49 matches last season and helped defend the La Liga title, but between the end of January and mid-April he went 14 matches without a goal. Barcelona bought him from City for 55 million plus 10 million in bonuses - so it is selling him for less than it paid, while avoiding a further 8 million it owed City had it extended his contract. At Barcelona they call that arithmetic good business.
