Swedish progressive metal band Soen comes to Sofia on March 25, 2027. The concert is on the covered small stage of Vidas Art Arena in Borisova Gradina, part of the Reliance Europe 2027 European tour. Guests will be announced later.

Soen was formed in 2010, and behind it are two names metal audiences already know. Drummer Martin Lopez played in Opeth years ago, and Joel Ekelöf's vocals carry the band's recognisable melodic sound. The line-up is completed by guitarist Cody Lee Ford, bassist Stefan Stenberg and keyboardist Lars Åhlund.

The debut "Cognitive" came out in 2012 and immediately put them among the most ambitious names in modern metal. The sixth, 2023's "Memorial", won Metal Hammer's album of the year award, and the songs "Lotus", "Savia" and "Lascivious" have millions of plays. The seventh album, "Reliance", came out on January 16, 2026, and some critics noted that it sounds heavier and less progressive than the previous ones.

Live, Soen move between quiet, almost intimate passages and powerful climaxes, and that dynamic is the band's main strength. In Sofia they'll come with songs from "Reliance" and from the whole catalogue. When a band of that stature plays a small stage rather than a sports hall, the audience gets a closer version of what festivals see.
