British singer Chris Norman, the original voice of Smokie, plays Hall 1 of the NDK in Sofia on March 19, 2027 at 8 p.m. The organisers are billing it as his last tour of Bulgaria, with three concerts: Sofia, Varna on March 21 and Plovdiv on March 23.

Norman sang for Smokie in the band's biggest era, from the mid-seventies to 1986. That's when "Living Next Door to Alice", "Lay Back in the Arms of Someone" and "Oh Carol" were made - songs that are still in radio rotation across Europe today. His 1978 duet "Stumblin' In" with Suzi Quatro was a hit in the US as well.

He launched his solo career with 1986's "Midnight Lady", written by Dieter Bohlen, which went to number one in Germany. The tour is called Lifelines, and on stage Norman is joined by his live band for the Smokie classics and the solo hits.

Tickets on bilet.bg cost 30 to 72 euros, roughly 1,850 to 4,440 denars. For the generation that grew up on Smokie, this may be the last chance to hear "Alice" in his voice.
