Grown Men Beat Two Children in a Schoolyard in Struga: Criminal Charges Filed

Violence where children should be safest - in the schoolyard. Police in Struga have filed criminal charges against two adults and one minor, following an attack on two children in a school's yard.

According to the charges, the suspects are two men aged 39 and 46 from the village of Radolišta and one minor from Frangovo. They physically attacked two minors and inflicted bodily injuries on them. The act has been classified as violence against a child, under Article 201-a of the Criminal Code.

That grown men raise their hands against children in a schoolyard is a picture that says enough on its own. The question now is not only whether there will be a punishment, but also where the adults who should have prevented it were before it happened. A criminal charge is the beginning, not the end - and the children who were hurt are not a statistic, but someone's children who will walk into the same yard again tomorrow.
