Another traffic tragedy on Macedonia's roads. On the Prilep - Gradsko road, at the Pletvar pass, near the village of Oreovec, a truck with Bitola plates ran off the road for reasons still unknown. One person was killed. The truck was carrying sand, which spilled across the roadway.

The crash was reported at 17:44, and traffic was fully halted from 17:55. Only around 19:30 was alternating one-lane passage restored. Long queues formed, and the citizens, as usual, were posting photos and videos on social media while the investigation was still going on.

Pletvar is no stranger when it comes to traffic accidents. The pass, with its curves and gradients, has been one of the critical spots on that route for years. And every tragedy like this reopens the same question - how much of these deaths is genuinely an accident, and how much is the consequence of roads that demand more than they offer.

Behind every piece of news like this stands a person who set out on the road this morning and didn't come home. The number "one person" in the police statement is someone's son, father, neighbor. And while the investigation works out exactly what happened, the question of the safety of our roads stays open - as always, until the next tragedy.
