Another rock legend from the ranks that defined the seventies is coming to Belgrade, but this time it carries extra weight - Uriah Heep play Sava Centar on November 10 as part of their farewell tour. After 57 years on stage, this is one of the last chances to see them live, and Belgrade is close enough for anyone in the region for whom Lady in Black means more than just a chorus.
Uriah Heep were formed in London in 1969 and are regarded as one of the main pioneers of hard rock, heavy metal and progressive rock. Across nearly six decades the band went through countless lineup changes, and guitarist Mick Box is the only remaining original member. In Germany they enjoyed massive success, where the single Lady in Black became a huge hit and remained their most enduring classic.
The Magician's Farewell tour was announced in September 2024 to mark the band's 55th anniversary and kicked off in February 2025 in Birmingham. It is planned to run for two years and carry them across all of Europe, and in November 2026 it reaches Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia. With Bernie Shaw on vocals and Phil Lanzon on keyboards, the lineup still carries part of the unmistakable sound of the golden years.
The concert at Sava Centar starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are available through tickets.rs. Farewell tours have a habit of coming back, but when a band says it is the final one - it is worth not missing.
