The ruling VMRO-DPMNE party has accused the opposition SDSM of outsourcing the production of political statements to a Serbian public relations agency, claiming the move demonstrates the opposition's inability to mount a credible domestic political campaign.
According to VMRO-DPMNE, the Belgrade-based agency Eye Media has been crafting statements and media strategies for SDSM. The ruling party pointed to connections between the agency and Bashanovic, a former advisor to ex-Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, as evidence of the arrangement.
The accusation also named SDSM figure Venko Filipche as being involved in the coordination with the Serbian agency. VMRO-DPMNE framed the revelation as proof that SDSM's public messaging is manufactured abroad rather than reflecting genuine domestic political positions.
In a separate but related attack, the ruling party highlighted a recent arrest of a senior official in the agriculture inspectorate on corruption charges, using it to draw broader contrasts between its governance record and the legacy of the SDSM-led administration. The opposition has not directly responded to the allegations about the PR agency, though it has previously dismissed similar claims as politically motivated distractions.
