Looking for more events? The full calendar of concerts and events in Macedonia and the region is in one place.
Belgrade's Jevremovac Botanical Garden opens its gates on August 22 and 23 for Wine Garden Summer Nights, one of the city's most popular events devoted to wine and music under the open sky. The two summer evenings pair wine tastings with a varied music programme in the setting of the historic garden.
Wine Garden has been part of Belgrade's summer calendar for several years now and stands out for its relaxed-enjoyment concept - instead of a big stage and one performer, visitors move through the garden and discover local and regional wineries, free tastings and gastronomic specialities, while the music spreads across several spots in the space. Each evening is conceived as its own experience, in which wine and sound naturally blend into the greenery of Jevremovac.
The music programme is part of the event's identity - past editions have featured names like Zoe Kida and Dejan Cukić, and the mix of live music, wine and a botanical-garden setting creates an atmosphere the standard concerts don't offer. The events run from 5 to 11 p.m., giving visitors enough time to explore every corner of the garden.
Tickets sell through tickets.rs, priced at around 2,000 dinars per evening. For visitors from Macedonia after a different kind of summer evening in Belgrade - no crowds and no big stage, but wine and music amid greenery - Wine Garden is one of the most pleasant August picks.
