Looking for more events? The full calendar of concerts and events in Macedonia and the region is in one place.
Željko Joksimović, one of the region's most respected singer-songwriters, plays Diamond Club on the island of Krk on August 14. The Malinska concert slots into a run of big names passing through the club this season - the one that has become the summer epicentre of the regional music scene.
Over the past two decades Joksimović has established himself as an author whose signature is on some of the biggest hits in Balkan pop. The Macedonian audience knows him best from his Eurovision appearances - his runner-up finish with „Lane moje" in 2004 remains one of the contest's most remembered performances, and he later composed for other countries and acts too. Beyond singing, he is known as a producer and composer with a recognisable sound that fuses contemporary pop with Balkan melody.
Joksimović's shows are known for strong emotion, top-tier production and a special bond with the audience, which is why the Krk concert already ranks among the most anticipated musical events of the summer. Diamond Club, with a stage nine metres high and twenty-five metres wide, is the Adriatic's largest summer stage and offers production conditions few clubs in the region can match.
The concert starts at 10 p.m., with tickets on sale through entrio.hr for up to around 30 euros. For visitors from Macedonia holidaying on the northern Adriatic, this is a chance to hear one of the regional scene's biggest names live in an exclusive club setting.
