Club Stroezha in central Sofia hands its stage to Bunta and his Gangstaboogie band on Friday, 6 November. The occasion is the official launch of the new album "Smoking Talking", with the 5 O'Clock crew billed as the night's special guest.
Bunta doesn't fall from the sky. The Bandcamp page of 5 O'Clock, a Sofia hip-hop crew, lists him as the author of "Gangstaboogieman" and "Junkyart", of the EP "No Exit" with El Niño and of "Dinozavri, kadilaci" with Imera. So the band's name wasn't invented for the poster: it carries the title of one of his releases.
The poster says live band, and that's the most interesting thing in the announcement. How many rap launches in the Balkans are actually played by musicians rather than off a laptop? About the album itself the organisers say little: they promise a heavy sound and a night that won't pass quietly, and beyond the announcement there's almost no information. You'll have to hear it.
Doors at the club on Georgi Rakovski Street 116 open at 7 pm, and the programme starts at 8. The early tickets at 10 euros are gone, which leaves the standard 12 euros on bilet.bg, about 740 denars.
