Dire Straits Legacy play the Summer Theatre in Burgas on September 30, 2026 at 7 p.m. The organiser bills it as the band's last tour of Bulgaria, and the stage is in the Sea Garden, a few steps from the beach.

This isn't an ordinary tribute band. Keyboardist Alan Clark joined Dire Straits in 1980 and for years played on the records and tours of Mark Knopfler's band. Percussionist Danny Cummings was part of the original group's last tour. Guitarist Phil Palmer, who played with Knopfler on "On Every Street", is now the project's musical director, and saxophonist Mel Collins is known from King Crimson and from Dire Straits recordings. On vocals and guitar is Italian Marco Caviglia, and on stage will also be Steve Walters, Primiano Di Biase and Alex Polifrone.

The programme is a collection of the biggest hits: "Sultans of Swing", with which the band broke through in 1978, "Money for Nothing" and "Six Blade Knife". The 1985 album "Brothers in Arms" sold around 30 million copies and is among the best-selling albums in the history of British music. Dire Straits as a band hasn't existed since 1995, so this is the closest thing to a live performance of those songs with the people who played them.

Tickets on bilet.bg cost roughly 1,890 to 4,410 denars (30.68 to 71.58 euros). Children under seven get in free, but without a seat. A day later, on October 1, the same line-up also plays the Summer Theatre in Veliko Tarnovo.
