One night of funk, soul and disco from all over the planet, on vinyl only. DJ Slowz steps behind the turntables at Club Pave in Sofia on Saturday, 7 November, with support from DJ Not Easy and Delightful.

Slowz was born in Hanoi and started out as a breakdancer in 2004, later becoming one of the first break DJs in Vietnam. The organisers say he won Battle Of The Year and R16 for Southeast Asia. For more than 15 years he has been collecting records and preserving Vietnam's musical heritage from before and after the war, and on Instagram he tells stories about forgotten singles and bands to more than a quarter of a million followers. He also hunts down the original tapes of songs with no known surviving vinyl copy. How many recordings like these from the Balkans are still waiting for someone to look for them?

His sets run through rare releases from the 60s, 70s and 80s from Southeast Asia, Cuba and Colombia, and lately Denmark too. As a producer he works with the Vietnamese label Saigon Supersound, and in 2025 he signed an official remix for Jazzanova on the release "In Between (Remixes)". DJ Not Easy is the Bulgarian answer to that obsession: a break DJ from Belene whose "Bultimate Breaks & Beats" minimixes dig out little-known funk covers from the Balkanton label.

Doors open at 11 pm. The late tickets at 13 euros, about 800 denars, are what's left on bilet.bg. Pave is at Slaveykov Square 4, in central Sofia.
