Aries

Aries will spend today waiting. Not because they decided to be patient, but because the work depends on somebody who is not answering. They will check three times whether the message was sent; it will have been sent all three times. Somewhere around four in the afternoon they will stop looking at the phone, and that is exactly when it will ring.

Taurus

Taurus will pay more for something today than it was worth, because they were in a hurry. They will know it while paying. At home they will not mention it.

Gemini

Gemini will read something all the way through today - the whole text, without skipping the middle, without opening three other things along the way. It will take twenty minutes. What they remember from it will not be the point but one sentence from the middle, and it will come back to them in a few weeks in a conversation that is about something else entirely.

Cancer

Cancer will be in a room today where two people are being cold with each other, and will feel it before anyone else does. They will try to change the subject. They will partly succeed, which is more than anyone else in the room manages, and nobody will say a word about it.

Leo

Leo will be asked about something they do not know today, and will answer that they do not know, without the padding. No "I should check on that", no sliding across to a topic where they are stronger. A Wednesday you start with one honest "I don't know" goes by with a few conversations fewer.

Virgo

Virgo will glance at next week's schedule today and see there is not one free day in it. They will delete one commitment. They will put it back within the hour.

Libra

Libra will remember someone they have not been in touch with for two years today, and will not write to them. Not out of awkwardness, but because they will judge that a message out of the blue carries the question "what do they want now" before it carries anything else. By evening the thought will come back once more, and once more they will leave it.

Scorpio

Scorpio will get a compliment today and will take it without analysing where it comes from or what is being asked for with it. They will say "thank you" and carry on working. That happens so rarely with them that they will only notice it in the evening, when it is already too late to ruin it.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius will be invited to something interesting at the last minute today and will decline because they already have other plans. Less interesting plans, with people who would not notice if they did not turn up. They will go to the second one.

Capricorn

Capricorn will finish work on time today and stay another hour, not for anything specific but because there is nothing waiting for them at home in that hour. They will tidy what is already tidy. If somebody asks what they are doing they will say they are finishing up, and that will not be a lie - they genuinely think they are finishing something.

Aquarius

Aquarius will be right about something small and practical today - which line to take, where there is space, which shop is open. No idea, no explanation of the system behind it. The people they are with will listen immediately, which with them usually only happens for the big things and never this quickly.

Pisces

Pisces will have work today that demands figures, deadlines and an exact reply to a message by the end of the day. They will finish it. They will enjoy none of it, but around six they will catch themselves feeling calmer than after any day this week spent on more interesting things.
