Aries

Aries will be in a good mood today with not one concrete reason for it. You'll start hunting for what caused it - sleep, some news, something arranged yesterday. Don't hunt. Days that arrive on their own owe nobody an explanation of where they came from.

Taurus

Taurus will hear a song today they haven't heard in fifteen years, and will spend the whole afternoon somewhere else. Don't be embarrassed about it in front of the people in the car. Someone who won't allow even three minutes to carry them backwards eventually stops having anywhere to return to.

Gemini

Gemini will start a conversation today with someone they see every day and know not one thing about outside work. Ask them something unrelated to what connects you. The people you pass ten times a week are the only ones who stay strangers for years, because there is always a tomorrow for that question.

Cancer

Cancer will catch themselves today tidying things around the house nobody but them will notice. That isn't wasted time and it needs no justification. Some hands think better when they are busy, and an afternoon spent this way often gives the answer that three weeks of sitting with a cup of tea did not.

Leo

Leo will be asked their opinion today by someone to whom that opinion genuinely matters. The first impulse will be to give it fast and confidently. Take one minute longer than you need. An answer given instantly sounds as though it was prepared in advance, and to the person who asked, that is worth less than the advice itself.

Virgo

Virgo will be caught without a plan today in the middle of something important, and will handle it better than half the prepared things this year. Remember that day. Not to stop preparing - but to know how much of the preparation serves the work, and how much only serves to settle your head before it.

Libra

Libra will receive money today from a place they weren't expecting it - a debt repaid, some small thing, something miscalculated in their favour. Don't immediately look for where to invest it. Small sums that arrive unexpectedly rarely change a week; they only change a mood, if you let them.

Scorpio

Scorpio will be the gentlest person today in a room where someone is having a hard time. No analysis, no question beyond what's needed. They will simply stay longer than the others stayed. That is all that worked when things were hard for you, and it is all that works today.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius will turn down an invitation today and stay home, which for them is rarer than rain in August. A small worry will catch them that they're missing out. Don't check afterwards how it went. An evening spent at home stops being rest the moment you begin measuring it against the one you didn't go to.

Capricorn

Capricorn will buy something today that they don't need, that isn't an investment and that solves no problem at all. They'll come up with three justifications before paying. Not one is needed. Someone who defends every expense to themselves as though before a committee has been working for years for somebody who never sent them a bill.

Aquarius

Aquarius will keep quiet today about something they know to be true, because the situation doesn't call for it. It will feel more comfortable than expected. Not every piece of knowledge needs to come out the day it is acquired; some things sit better with a person than on a table.

Pisces

Pisces will say a number, a date or a price today without a single hedge around it. The other person will answer within five seconds, because for the first time they had something to hold on to. A clear sentence isn't rudeness - it is the only form in which attention towards another person reaches them the same day.
