Heading to Greece? We have a complete guide - live border, beaches, prices and documents.
Anyone who drives to Greece knows the routine: three different pages, a hunt for a working camera, a glance at some forum, and then you set off and hope. The clock on metla.mk pulls Bogorodica, Medzitlija and Star Dojran into one place - live cameras from the crossings themselves, and a reading that updates every five minutes.
One tap switches the crossing, another switches direction - towards Greece or back home. The gap between them is not small. At 16:00 this afternoon the wait at Bogorodica was 110 minutes heading into Greece; in that same hour, Medzitlija cleared in six.
The clock does not only show now. "Check previous days" opens any past day, hour by hour, recorded as it happened - nothing smoothed after the fact, just what the page was showing live that hour.
In the other direction sits a seven-day forecast produced by Nakordoni. Pick a day and you get the full hourly schedule, drawn with dashed bars so it is unmistakably a prediction rather than a measurement.
This is the part almost nobody does. Every figure on the page is a button: open "How this number was reached" and you see each source that fed the calculation - Nakordoni, road traffic, and reports from drivers themselves, each with its weight written next to it.
The reasoning is simple. A number that shows only its final digit asks to be taken on trust. A number that shows its working can be checked - including why a particular driver report did or did not move it.
The cameras belong to the Public Enterprise for State Roads, which publishes the feeds. The forecast is Nakordoni.eu. The rest is gathered into one place, so nobody has to set off and hope.
