Kumanovo plants 140 jasmine saplings on the small "Marshal Tito" square, and the mayor asks residents to look after them

140 jasmine saplings have been planted on the small "Marshal Tito" square in Kumanovo, as part of the "Urban Greening for Healthier Breathing" project. The goal, according to the municipality, is to tidy up public space and give residents a greener, more pleasant environment.

"With every newly planted sapling we contribute to a cleaner environment and a better-looking city. Let us show responsibility and care and protect the new greenery together - greenery is our shared wealth," said Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski.

The appeal is fair enough, because planting is the easy part. How many times have we watched new saplings wither in their first summer because nobody waters them, or vanish without anyone asking what happened to them?

Next spring will show how many of the 140 saplings survived. That is the number worth publishing.
