Greek psychedelic rock has been living through a revival for the past decade, and Naxatras are the band standing at its centre. The group plays at the Youth Cultural Centre in Skopje on October 3 starting at 20:00, as part of their autumn tour.
The band has existed since 2012 and has built a sound that deliberately looks back to the seventies: heavy riffs, dreamy melodies and long guitar solos. The recording method is part of the identity. The 2015 debut album was recorded entirely on analogue equipment, with every song played live over the course of a single day. That album became one of the best-selling releases in the genre.
It was followed by „II” in 2016 and „III” in 2018, recorded the same way. For the fourth album „IV” from 2022 the band brought in multi-instrumentalist Pantelis Kargas, who added keyboards and synthesisers and widened their sound. The fifth album, „V”, came out on Evening Star Records, and on it the band folded in ethno and electronic elements too. The band works independently, has sold over 20,000 vinyl records and CDs and has played across Europe and Australia.
The organisers announce the evening as a journey through the saga of the world of Narahmon, which for a band in this genre means a concert built as a single whole, not as a string of songs. The ticket costs 1,000 denars via tix.mk.
