For ten years Spike Fuck has existed more as a myth than as an active musician. The Australian singer performs at KOTUR in Skopje on November 10 at 21:00, in an event by Druga Strana Events in collaboration with Athens' PLISSKEN Festival.
The Melbourne artist started performing under this name in 2015, and named the sound herself: „smackwave” - a mix of late eighties new wave, late seventies post-punk and a touch of country. „The Smackwave EP” came out in 2016, five songs that go straight at heroin addiction, gender identity, religion and breaking up. The title hides nothing.
What followed the release was a period in which more rumours circulated around her than music - about death, about madness and everything in between - while the releases stayed rare. In 2019 she signed to Partisan Records, the label that reissued the EP together with the new single „Body by Crystal”. She returned to active work in December 2024 with the single „Other Right Hand of the Lord”, and in May 2025 „Eternity & Time” followed.
KOTUR on Nikola Vapcarov street is a club space, which for a performer of this profile is a more natural fit than a concert hall. The ticket costs 600 denars via tix.mk.
