New asphalt and pavements on Nikola Karev street in Probishtip: The deadline is next week, weather permitting

Part of Nikola Karev street in Probishtip is being reconstructed, mayor Toni Tonevski announced. The project involves completely removing the old asphalt, a new base layer and two layers of asphalt, as well as building retaining walls and new pavements.

If the weather allows, the new asphalt will be laid as early as next week, Tonevski said. At the same time, asphalting of part of Jakim Stojkovski street is also due to be completed. "We continue to work with dedication on improving road infrastructure, increasing traffic safety and creating better living conditions for all our fellow citizens," the mayor said.

Two layers of asphalt and pavements instead of just patching potholes - that's a difference residents will feel. But the statement doesn't tell us two things: how many metres of the street are covered and how much the works cost. The deadline, at least, is clear: next week, weather permitting. We'll see whether Probishtip gets its asphalt before the first rains.
