The Australian hard rock quartet Airbourne return to Zagreb on July 28, 2026, at the Boogaloo club, starting at 8 pm. This is the band that carried one very simple idea out of Warrnambool, a small coastal town in Victoria: rock and roll does not have to evolve, it has to burn. And they have defended that idea louder than anyone ever since.

Airbourne were formed in 2001 by brothers Joel O'Keeffe, who sings and plays lead guitar, and Ryan O'Keeffe on drums, together with David Roads on rhythm guitar. Justin Street joined on bass in mid-2004. The debut album „Runnin' Wild” came out on June 23, 2007 through EMI, entered the Australian ARIA chart at twenty-one, broke into both the British chart and the American Billboard 200, and won best debut album at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods in 2008. In the video for the title track the truck driver is played by Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister, which for a young band at that moment was more than a blessing - it was a certificate.

What keeps Airbourne relevant two decades later is not innovation. They never pretended to be anything other than direct heirs of AC/DC, and that honesty is precisely their capital. Joel O'Keeffe sings with a voice that sounds torn apart after every concert and patched back together before the next, and he is known for climbing structures above the crowd while still playing. The live show is the point of this band; the studio is only preparation for it.

The Boogaloo club in Zagreb has a capacity that makes a concert like this physical rather than spectacular, which is exactly the right size for Airbourne.
