Ana and Igor Durlovski with the Ajga chamber orchestra, conducted by Ana Spasovska, will perform at Donji Saraj in Ohrid on July 18. The concert starts at 21:00 and is part of the 66th Ohrid Summer, the festival's classical cycle.
Ana Durlovska is a soprano born in Štip, with an opera career that started at the Macedonian Opera and then took her to Germany and Switzerland. From 2006 to 2011 she was a member of the opera ensemble at Staatstheater Mainz, with leading roles including Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Musetta (La Bohème) and Manon (Manon). In 2019 she performed in a new production of Lucia di Lammermoor in Graz, in 2020 in Les Huguenots in Geneva, and in 2021 she took the title role of Handel's Alcina at the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg.
Igor Durlovski is a bass opera singer, born in Bitola, and a graduate of the Faculty of Music in Skopje. He debuted in 1999, and with the Macedonian Opera and Ballet has performed in Lucia di Lammermoor, Il Trovatore, Don Giovanni, Turandot, The Barber of Seville, La Forza del Destino, Rigoletto and Aida. In 2001 he made his international debut at the Wiener Kammeroper. In 2003 he received the Gjorgji Bozhikov Award from the Association of Macedonian Composers for the best performance of a work by a Macedonian composer. He is married to Ana, and since 2019 they have jointly run the Durlovski Opera Academy.
The Ajga chamber orchestra under Ana Spasovska is one of the active Macedonian chamber ensembles, organizer of the Skopje International Music Festival and a regular guest at Ohrid Summer. Tickets for the concert are sold via mktickets.mk at 600 denars apiece.
