Hungarian singer Annamária Oláh returns to Bulgaria with a new line-up. On October 8, 2026 at Bar Schrödinger in Sofia she holds her first joint concert with Petar Yordanov - Bani and Zhaklin Dishliev - Jay. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. sharp.

For fifteen years Annamária Oláh was the singer and partly the songwriter in two Hungarian world music bands, Fókatelep and Meszecsinka. Meszecsinka, the band she led, blends Bulgarian and Hungarian roots with Latin, Mediterranean and experimental influences. For her, Bulgarian folklore isn't an exotic decoration but part of the language she sings in.

The trio comes together for the first time on this very tour. Jay plays guitar and backs the voice with psychedelic, improvised rock passages, while Bani sits behind a big percussion set and holds down the odd meters and tribal rhythms. The material includes motifs from the Orient, Asia, Hungary and Bulgaria. Balkan odd meters, played by a Hungarian and two Bulgarians: is there any better proof that folklore doesn't recognise borders?

Tickets cost 15 euros, roughly 920 denars, and are sold on bilet.bg. The concert is for lovers of darker ethno sounds.
