Aquapolis Festival will be one of the strangest summer electronic events anywhere on the Balkans - it takes over the abandoned Aquapolis water park at Golden Sands (Varna) on July 18, 2026, starting at 2 p.m. and running until sunrise. Tickets are on bilet.bg for the world's first open-air electronic festival on a venue this peculiar.
Aquapolis was one of Eastern Europe's largest water parks when it opened in the 90s, designed as a „sunken ancient city" with columns, statues and waterslides in an Arab-meets-antique aesthetic. Abandoned years ago, the park has been sitting untouched next to the Golden Sands beach as a mysterious landmark everyone recognizes - now it's the stage of the biggest open-air event in the country, run by Saké (a Bulgarian promoter house with a deep local roster) and PR Club.
The festival has three stages, covers over 30,000 m² and runs from 2 p.m. to sunrise - that's 14+ hours of continuous electronic music inside a post-apocalyptic abandoned landscape, with serious sound production, light installations and art interventions across the whole site. The focus is house, techno and electronic sound, plus experimental interventions threaded through the night.
The location is the identity - the crowd dances between 30-year-old waterslides, inside open pools and under the columns of the „sunken city". Tickets on bilet.bg; getting from Sofia to Varna is a bus ride or a 1-hour flight plus local transport. Aquapolis Festival is one of the most ambitious Balkan electronic nights of 2026.
