Brazilian blues and blues-rock guitarist Arthur Menezes plays Zagreb's Hard Place club on December 5 at 8 p.m., with a programme billed as a "Blues Rock Extravaganza".

Menezes was born in Brazil in 1985 and now lives in Los Angeles. At the 2018 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where more than 250 bands from around the world competed, he won the "Albert King" award for best guitarist and third place in the band category. In 2023 he played Eric Clapton's Crossroads festival.

His playing is fiery, hard blues that at times borders on shred but slips easily into swinging jazz grooves, while his Brazilian roots give it a colour of its own. Since 2010 he has released six albums, the latest being the 2023 EP "AM/FM" on Black Hill Records. He was also one of the founders of the association "Casa do Blues", which organised free weekly concerts and blues workshops.

Tickets cost 15 euros (about 924 denars) plus fees and are sold via entrio.hr. Hard Place is on Ulica Hrvatske bratske zajednice in Zagreb, Croatia.
