Barcelona Gipsy balKan Orchestra in Varna on July 12 - the Spanish-Balkan Fusion Band at the Festival and Congress Centre

Barselona Dzhipsi vo Varna na 12 juli

Barcelona Gipsy balKan Orchestra - BGKO, the Spanish-Balkan fusion band from Barcelona, comes to Varna on July 12, 2026. The concert will take place at the Festival and Congress Centre in Varna, as part of their summer tour.

The band was founded in Barcelona in 2014 by eight musicians from different backgrounds - Catalonia, Serbia, Macedonia, Italy, Turkey and France. As the name suggests, the musical concept is a bridge between Spanish flamenco and the Balkan brass tradition - with added Romani melodies from Eastern Europe. The lead vocalist Mirabel Gomes Sorin (from Catalonia) sings in several languages - Spanish, Romani, Serbo-Croatian, Bulgarian and French. With six studio albums and regular European tours, they have cult status in the world music genre.

The setlist covers original tracks from all six albums, alongside classics of the Balkan Romani tradition - Cigani, Bubamara, Mesecina, Kalashnikov. The style suits a summer stage and a dancing crowd - their concerts are staged as a mini-festival. The Festival and Congress Centre in Varna is one of the largest summer stages on the Black Sea coast.

Tickets are available through eventim.bg at 70 leva. The concert starts at 20:00 on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Varna is Bulgaria's largest Black Sea city. For Macedonian fans of Balkan Romani and fusion music, this is one of the key dates in the neighbourhood this summer.
